Why are your buttons in the .png format instead of jpeg or bitmap?
We provide all of our graphics in .png format because it provides a much higher level of versatility than most other popular image formats. The images support full 32-bit transparency which means they can be placed over any sort of background image and blend in seamlessly. Once you have the buttons arranged or placed where you want them within your graphic editing application, they can be exported with the background included via slices or some other means in a web-friendly format such as jpeg, bitmap or gif.
How do I add a background color to my button?
The buttons can be opened with any graphic editing application that supports .png files. Using Adobe Photoshop or similar program that makes use of "layers"; open the button file and create a new "color fill layer" of the desired background color behind the button layer. Now you can save the file as a jpeg, gif or whatever format you would like and the background color will be included in the new file.
